Security Guard Injured While Trying to Stop Thief

A security guard employed at Menards, in Des Moines, was injured as she tried to stop a thief from fleeing the store.

The thief had stolen $400 worth of merchandise, when he jumped into the passenger seat of a getaway car in the store’s parking lot and ordered the driver to accelerate. The security guard then stood in front of the car, in an attempt to stop the thief from getting away.

She was hit by the car five times in her legs at a low speed. She then moved, and the car drove away. She suffered minor bruising on her legs.
