Repairman falls to his death
A worker repairing a disabled elevator fell to his death on Friday morning after he fell nearly ten stories down an elevator shaft. The 44 year-old man is believed to have lost his balance, causing him to fall. The death occurred in a thirteen-story office building in New York City’s Garment District.
Employees in the building did not see him fall, but say they heard a sickening sound when he landed on the first floor. First responders say the man was in cardiac arrest when they found him and immediately took him to Bellevue University Hospital, where he later died.
Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim in this tragic accident.
