A Mississippi construction worker was killed instantly when a car struck him on the median of Interstate 85 earlier this week.
The man, identified as a 53 year-old who worked to install cable barriers on the interstate, was standing in the median with several other workers when a vehicle suddenly drove over the median. He continued to drive and hit a traffic barrel and a small bobcat loader before coming to a stop.
The driver and another worker were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A coroner ruled the worker’s cause of death of multiple blunt force trauma injuries. Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man killed in this accident.
