A 55 year-old man from Donegal Township, Pennsylvania died Monday afternoon after the tractor he was operating overturned and caught on fire while he was pinned beneath it.
According to the coroner’s office, the man was driver the tractor to rake hay on his father’s farm when the accident happened; however, a possible cause for the rollover was not given. The farmer succumbed to thermal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Leaking diesel fuel from the tractor accelerated the fire. His death has been ruled an accident, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. An investigation into the fatal accident is still ongoing.
