Girl loses legs after being hit by a train

Posted on September 9th, 2011 No Comments

A teenage girl from Colorado was trying to jump onto a moving train with her friends when she fell and was run over by the train. The 17 year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital but has lost both of her legs due to her injuries. Her life was saved thanks to a nurse who was waiting for the train when she saw the girl fall.

The woman helped the teenager stay conscious and applied pressure to ease the bleeding while emergency vehicles were on their way. The nurse says upon seeing the girl’s legs, she knew that they could not be saved. Fortunately, the girl survived and is in stable condition in the hospital.
