Is there a statute of limitations on workers’ compensation claims?

Yes. Following a workplace injury, you have two years to request compensation. However, you need to notify your employer about the injury within 90 days. If you have received compensation but feel it is inadequate, or wish to extend your weekly payments, you have three years from the date of your last payment to complain.

Any benefits you receive in another state or country will be counted towards your Iowa workers’ compensation total.

If you have any questions about your rights and responsibilities within the workers’ comp system, contact the Des Moines workers’ compensation lawyers of LaMarca & Landry, P.C. at 877-327-2600.
