Legislation May Give Former Workers Benefits
A new piece of legislation could be a great help to workers’ compensation applicants. The legislation would put the burden of proof on the labor department and would make payments to estates if the applicant dies before processing.
This bill comes in the wake of one man’s case. After fighting for benefits for seven years, the man died of complications from brain tumors developed through work. He never received his benefits.
