Should you receive overtime pay?
If you work overtime, then you are entitled extra pay from your employee. This regulation was established in 1938 with the Fair Labor Standards Act. As part of the law, overtime regulations required employers to pay overtime workers “time and a half” in most circumstances.
These regulations are especially pertinent to employees who perform physical labor or similar work. However, they do not apply to all types of workers. Because the workplace environment has changed dramatically since the passage of the original overtime regulations, many laws have been enacted to define those workers who qualify.
If you are working overtime and not receiving extra pay, then you may have cause to recover this compensation. Contact the Des Moines workers’ compensation lawyers of LaMarca Law Group, P.C. at 877-327-2600.
