The technical and legal aspects of light duty

When an employee is injured in the workplace, that employee may have the right to request light duty. In such a case, the employer must provide light duty if work is available. 

Light duty often occurs when the employee is injured and unable to perform his usual taks. While the injury prevents the worker from performing normal tasks, that worker may be able to do light duty work activities. These include working fewer hours, performing less demanding tasks, and working in a workspace that is accomodaged to the injured party's needs.
