2 Construction Workers Killed in Elevator Accident
Two men, a 49-year-old and 51-year-old, died recently while working on a construction site in New York City.
The two men had been friends and co-workers for years. They had even both won awards for working safely. The accident that killed them occurred when they were working in an elevator that was up 70 feet in the air. The men were, reportedly, not using safety equipment, such as harnesses or safety nets, to protect them in case of a fall. The two men fell from the elevator and died.
The manager of the construction site has been cited with several safety violations, including not using guardrails.
