A 43-year-old man from St. George, Utah was killed early Wednesday morning when he was working on a construction site on Interstate 15.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the man was working with his crew when he took a short break to talk on his cell phone. While doing so, a fellow crew member, who was driving a front-end loader, passed by. A bucket on the front-end loader struck the man in the head, and sixteen minutes later he died.
The Utah Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into this accident, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be following suit with their own investigation.
