Four crew members still missing on Costa Concorida
25 passengers and four crew members are still missing as rescue efforts continue to on the toppled luxury cruise liner that capsized Friday night off the Italian coast.
The total number of passenger and crew member injuries are reported to be near 60. An Italian cabin steward suffered a broken leg and wasn’t rescued until 36 hours after the crash. The injuries crew members suffered have not been released.
The crash occurred after the captain maneuvered the ship too close to shore and hit the rocky ocean floor. He is currently on house arrest and faces charges of manslaughter, causing a ship wreck, and leaving the vessel before all people were evacuated.
Rescuers found five more bodies today, all believed to be passengers. Their identities have not yet been identified.
