Injured workers sue distributors and suppliers
Three men are suing the companies responsible for supplying and distributing remodeling supplies after a serious explosion permanently injured and disfigured them.
Ranging in age from 19 to 29 years-old, the workers were remodeling a basement in Peosta last August when they mixed acetone and a product dye, as the instructions stated. The mixture caused a fire and explosion, engulfing the men.
The workers argue that the companies should have foreseen that construction workers working in basements would be at high risk for explosion, since acetone is heavier than air. All three are suing three companies for negligence, product defect, and breach of implied warranty.
