Electrical explosion at manufacturing plant wounds 5
Authorities are currently investigating an electrical explosion that happened on July 20 in a northwestern Iowa manufacturing plant that resulted in five people sustaining burns. They are trying to find out what could have caused the blast.
Workers at the Timewell Tile plant in Sibley were transferring some power lines to another set of transformers when the explosion occurred, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s office.
Five men sustained extensive burns in the incident, Lt. Seth Hoffman said. The names of the workers were not released, but authorities did state that two were from Timewell and three were from Current Electric.
